Prodways Reports 130% Jump in Printer Revenue in Q3
French 3D printing company Prodways reported a 130% increase in printer revenue in the third quarter of 2026, driven by ceramic 3D printing.
Industrial 3D Printing Market Updates
French 3D printing firm Prodways released its financial results for the third quarter of 2026, highlighting a significant shift in its business segments. The company's printer business within the Systems division generated €1.2 million in revenue during the quarter, marking a 130% increase compared to €500,000 in the same period of 2025. For the first nine months of the year, printer revenue reached €3 million, up 48% year-over-year.
This growth was primarily driven by demand for MOVINGLight technology used in ceramic applications. Prodways secured an order for approximately ten of these printers from a U.S. aerospace customer, with deliveries slated for 2027. This order underscores the ongoing transition of industrial customers from testing phases into series production.
Structural Changes and Service Division Performance
While equipment sales rose, the Products division experienced a 9% drop in revenue down to €6 million. This decrease was attributed to a slower summer period for digital manufacturing in France and temporary production issues in audiology during August and September as teams consolidated at a single site.
Prodways has also been reshaping its corporate structure. Following the earlier sale of its software business for €35 million, the company is currently working on divesting its materials business, operated by DeltaMed. These divestments left the Systems division consisting entirely of 3D printer sales, which allowed the 130% printer revenue jump to stand out clearly in the quarterly report. Total revenue for the third quarter reached €7.2 million, remaining nearly flat with a 1% increase.
Practical Perspective for Home Makers
For operators of desktop 3D printers such as Bambu Lab, Prusa, or Creality, these industrial reports reflect a broader picture of 3D printing maturing into heavy manufacturing applications.
Practical takeaway for your workbench:
- Ensure your first layer is properly calibrated before starting long prints to avoid adhesion failures.
- Keep hygroscopic filaments like PLA, PETG, ABS, and TPU properly dried, and consider choosing reliable spools from Queen Print for your daily prototyping tasks.
